June Goals

Me trying snorkeling (with my mom), in the ocean, in a two-piece. Normally a total no for me.

Even though the first part of June is done and gone - and I've already dealt with some pretty tremendous events so far - I'm looking forward to accomplishing my goals this second half.

My best friend is getting married and the trip we've been talking about, planning for and literally obsessing about for the past 14 months has arrived. The goal for this trip? Besides not making fool of myself while giving a speech (at what time?!) to 120+ people? Completely let go.

Let go of the stress and anxiety. Let the planner, the worry wart, and the spaz take the back seat (or the trunk) for this ride. Enjoy every scene, every conversation, the drinks, dinners, desserts and embrace this wonderful gift of a vacation that has been hand to me - and my family. Also, try lots and lots of new things - meat included! It's not that I don't adhere to this mantra on all vacations, but I think it's important to remind yourself of this often before and during a trip.

One last goal, Instagram the shit out of this vacation. It may be the best and biggest one for a while...

Don't Worry, I'm Alive.

...And Married! Is that enough of an excuse for a four-month blogging hiatus? I promise you in the months to come of photos, how-to's, inspiration, DIYs, international fashion shows and more, you'll forgive me in no time.

The last 10 months have been an absolute blast, an adventure (as I keep calling it) that I keep reliving over and over in my head. As I'm settling into this married life and the weird feeling of not consulting my wedding book every five minutes, I did manage to jot down a few New Year's Goals that have become very important to me.

>> Keeping old traditions and make new ones
Cherish family customs (the Easter Day scavenger hunt), continue recent additions (hosting Thanksgiving) and create new ones with friends and family.

>> Plan our honeymoon
Our goal is to head to Italy this Summer, with plans to meet my bestie on some beautiful island for her 30th. When is the first planning committee meeting?

>> Keep in touch with friends in family
Birthdays, anniversaries and just simple hellos. Being miles and oceans a part isn't a reason to forget the little things in life and to make each other smile. (Did I just write a greeting card? Bam, first one done.)

>> Make house to-do list
And actually check them off! Gardening, painting, hanging artwork ... the usual suspects.

>> Be creative with friends
I have so many great creative outlets and partners that I've met in the last couple of years and I've been totally neglecting them! I can't wait to start planning and executing some new pop-ups, collaborative projects, classes and more.

Cheers to an extraordinary year!

February Inspiration Board

I'm going to be updating my inspiration board monthly this year (last year I think I did it once) with magazine clippings, recipes, photos, local niceness and my monthly goals. For February I've included several recipes from Sunset Magazine, wanna make and wear outfits from an adorable catalogue called Boden and of course a beer label :) You can click on the photo to see exactly what everything is.

Most importantly, to me, are my monthly goals. It's a short list of five, but hopefully easy to accomplish. They are:
1) Exercise (Start and stay with it)
2) Send out handmade Valentines
3) Get outside and take more photos
4) Update my portfolio site
5) Watch my spending and save some money
